What a difference a year makes
Last fall little AVA was just a preemie.
This fall she's well on her way to walking and she's a little bundle of joy!

These two are going to be a blast on their wedding day! So cute!
I love the sound of laughter. I love it more when it's amongst families during a session! As a photographer I want you to feel comfortable taking your pictures, so when I hear your family laughing- I know fun is being had!
Check out this adorable family from last weekend!

Thanks guys! It was great working with you!

It's cold outside in spite of the fact that it's only October. I hope that it's not a sign of a super cold winter. :(
The picture above might look nice-- but it was cold. Little Chelsea wanted to play regardless. I love that about little ones. This sweet little bundle wanted to show me every stick and was fascinated by the leaves. :)

Thanks guys!
I introduced you to a little miracle named Annie a few months back-- This is a little video I put together to honor her and her family.

Fall is my favorite season! I love the crisp air and the vibrant colors. Saturday was a beautiful day for fall pictures!

* I love mom looking back at C in the background - both of them with huge smiles!

You hear parents say this all the time. As a photographer I love capturing the journey and watching little kiddos grow. Little T is growing so fast and I love seeing his little personality.

I love when I get to capture families who so clearly love each other. This family you could tell was pure bliss. They were so cute.

How could you not love all those faces!
This summer I had the opportunity to spend time with a beautiful family- the MacDonald's. I went to High school with Bridget several years ago (oy- it feels like just yesterday)- but only just reconnected through facebook. When I first heard the story of their family and the joy and the journey they have been on - my heart broke and beauty soared from the hearts of 4 people who love one little girl more than she will ever understand.
Meet Annie-
Annie is 4 years old and has what is called Rett's syndrome. I am sure most of you have never heard of it (neither have I) but I can only imagine the journey the family has been on. To have a healthy little girl that has gradually regressed to be unable to take care of herself but more importantly unable to enjoy many of the things many young children enjoy-- as Bridget describes: "Rett Syndrome is a devastating disease that has robbed Annie of any sort of independence. She is not able to
run, color, sing, dance, feed herself, reach for a toy, or tell us her needs and wants. Annie’s autonomic system has been affected, she has trouble chewing and swallowing and is fed through a g-tube for extra nourishment. She has anxiety, poor circulation, severe digestive problems, trouble regulating her breathing and body temperature, disrupted sleep patterns and scoliosis. Annie will need 24 hour care for the rest ofher life. Currently there are no treatments or cure for Rett Syndrome."
Can you imagine: the symptoms of autism, cerebral palsy, Parkinson’s, epilepsy, and anxiety disorders....ALL IN ONE LITTLE GIRL. That is Annie. And in spite of the disabilities she has she is a brilliant and happy little girl. I had the chance to see her smile- hear her laugh and see the joy on her brother and sisters faces as they shared time together. This for sure is one of my favorite pictures.

This family inspires me and captures the truth behind the joy of why I take pictures.

This family had spunk! It was great! I love it when personality shines though!

I love doing senior sessions! It's such a fresh fun time in life! I love to capture the individual personalities, the confidence and excitement in their faces. Melissa was radiant, fun and absolutely beautiful inside and out!

Earlier this summer I did a maternity session for this beautiful family.

And now Baby B has made his debut. Here are some from his newborn session this summer.

I am so lucky to get to work with such great families. I often end up becoming friends with my clients and am so blessed to have them and their children in my life. This little bundle I've been capturing images of since she was born. I had the oprotunity to capture her family again a few weeks ago.

Do you ever feel like life is passing you by? I used to be one of those who struggled to keep up with the everything I had to "do"- then I discovered that there are so many important things in life that were passing me by. The things you really want to cherish and remember are the personalities of your children, the adorable twinkle in your toddlers eye, the independence and confidence of a high school senior, the laughter and joy that rings from your house when your family is together or the joy and excitement of a newly engaged couple. Those moments are why I started to take pictures that are a little out of the ordinary.
What's different about ck photography?
Maybe you've discovered that 10 minutes in a studio won't usually capture your personalities, it will usually create lots of stress and chaos for parents and children. So what's different about ck photography? I am a custom photographer. I want your photos to reflect you, the spunk of your child, the joy of your family and the beauty of your life how it really is. My goal is to work with you in the process to help create and capture an image that reflects just that. Ultimately the beauty of custom photography is about the experience. You have one on one contact with me, the photographer, to help you with what to wear, discovering what your families style is, and picking the best place to have your pictures taken.
Sessions:
Sessions are relaxed and not rushed. Each session is 1-2 hours and at the location of your choice. The session is about telling your story- capturing real smiles. I will chat with your child, play with your toddler, ask your teenager questions about life. Together we will walk around and create and capture real moments. In the end I hope you will walk away with a great experience and anxious to see your custom gallery of proofs that reflect life's real moments!
Contact me today to book your session. Email me at ckphotographyemail@gmail.com
I look forward to working with you!
Christy
